Is die Sabbat heilig of Sondag heilig?
Is Sondag, die eerste dag van die week, die “Christensabbat”? Het dit die sewende dag (Saterdag), die Sabbat, as die rusdag van die Almagtige God vervang? Is die vierde gebod van die Wet van God (Tien Gebooie) soos ons dit opgeteken vind in Ex. 20:8-11 en Deut. 5:12-15, enigsins gewysig of afgeskaf? Aangesien Christus, sy twaalf apostels en al sy ander volgelinge, die sewende dag as die Sabbat van God gehou het, waarom doen die meerderheid Christene dit dat dan nie meer vandag nie, maar vier dit op Sondag?
Wie het die “heilige” Sondag ingestel?
Die Rooms-Katolieke Kerk het die “heilige” Sondag ingestel. Hulle het ook die tweede gebod uit hulle Tien Gebooie uitgehaal en hulle derde gebod handel nou oor die Sabbat in plaas van die vierde gebod. Dit is net een sin: “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day”. The (Catholic) Church, on the other hand, after changing the day of rest from God’s Sabbath, or seventh day of the week, to the first, made the Third Commandment refer to Sunday as the day to be kept holy as the Lord's Day...He (God) claims one day out of the seven as a memorial to Himself, and this must be kept holy..." Dit is so dat God een spesifieke dag in die week, uit die sewe dae, gekies het, dit geheilig het en eis dat dit heilig gehou moet word. Hierdie dag is die sewende dag van die week, die Sabbat!

God se Sabbat
Die Sabbatte is spesiale dae, wat ten alle tye deur JaHWeH se verbondsvolk, tot Sy eer gehou moet word. God het die Sabbat ingestel om Hom op hierdie dag in herinnering te roep, te dien en te eer en alles te onthou wat Hy as Vader gedoen het van die skepping af. Ook om te herdenk dat Hy op die sewende dag gerus het en beveel het dat dit as ‘n ewige instelling gehou moet word (Ex 20:8-11; 31:13-18; Deut 5:12-15). Indien die Sabbat nie onderhou word nie, word God sy gebod oortree en Hy nie onthou en geëer nie. JaHWeH het die sewende dag van elke week afgesonder as ‘n rusdag en ‘n heilige Sabbat (Ex 20:8-11; Lev 23:3 en Deut 5:12-15). Dit is die weeklikse Sabbat.
As toevoeging tot die weeklikse sabbatte, het JaHWeH ook sewe ander spesiale dae van die jaar as Sabbatte verklaar (Lev 23), wat volgens dieselfde voorskrifte as die weeklikse Sabbatte deurgebring moet word.
Wanneer ons na al die tekste oor die dood en opstanding van
Jahshua kyk, is dit noodsaaklik om altyd in gedagte te hou dat sedert die tyd
van die skepping in Genesis, die Israeliete hul dae begin het en weer geëindig
het met sononder (En dit was aand en dit was môre, die eerste dag Gen 1:5).
Dit is hoe God die tyd en die bepaling van dae ingestel het. Hierdie
verskil ten opsigte van ons huidige berekening van die begin en einde van ‘n
dag, veroorsaak baie groot probleme met die verstaan en interpretasie van die
tekste oor Jahshua se dood, opstanding en ook die Sabbat. Daar moet ook in
gedagte gehou word dat daar soms meer as een Sabbat in ‘n week
Jahshua se soendood het plaasgevind gedurende die viering van die pasga en die fees van die ongesuurde brode (Ex 12:15-20; 13:6; Mat 26:17; Mark 14:1).
Die “Christensabbat”
Die Rooms-Katolieke Kerk het die Sondag ingestel as die “Christensabbat”. Die sogenaamde Christensabbat is ‘n kunstig verdigte fabel. Dit berus op menslike veronderstellings en teorieë en is mensgemaak. Buitebybelse gegewens en tradisie word gebruik om dit te regverdig. Daar word beweer dat die hoofrede waarom Christene Sondag as Sabbat moet vier, is omdat Christus konsuis op die Sondag sou opgestaan het. Die tekste wat gebruik word om te bewys dat Jahshua op die eerste dag van die week opgestaan het, is vervals. Nog ‘n rede is dat die apostels ook op gereeld op die eerste dag van die week (Sondag) sou bymekaargekom het. Indien ons na al hierdie oorspronklike Griekse tekste kyk sal ons sien dat dit, in die Afrikaanse Bybel sowel as in die Engelse Bybel, vervals is.

LET WEL: Hou ook in gedagte dat die eerste dag van die week aanbreek of begin het net na sononder op die Sabbat. Die Sabbat is dus verby wanneer die son daardie aand ondergaan.

“He spent Sabbath in the tomb …”, Yahshua did spend part of the Sabbath in the tomb, but, “In fulness (“late” opsé) of Sabbath’s-time (sabbátohn) in the very being of light (epiphohskóúsehi) the First Day approaching … (eis mían sábbaton)”, rose from the dead.
Let op dat die Sabbat in Jahshua se tyd op die Vrydagaand met sononder begin het en geduur het tot Saterdag (Sabbat) met sononder. Sodra die son ondergegaan het op die Sabbat, was die Sabbat verby en het die eerste dag van die week aangebreek, d.w.s. net na sonsondergang terwyl dit nog lig was. For these reasons just the idea of a Sunday morning resurrection is silly, as it is for more reasons contained in the next objection:
“If it was late on the Sabbath that the women found the tomb empty, why would they be taking spices to anoint the dead body the next morning, knowing it was not there?" (Lk 24:1).”

Ons sien dus dat “die eerste dag van die week” deurgaans verkeerd vertaal is. Die kerke se regverdiging om die Sabbat na die Sondag te verskuif, is dus op vervalste tekste gebaseer.
Die Nuwe Vertaling (1983) vat hulle vervalsing een stappie verder en gebruik die woord “SONDAE”. Die regverdiging vir Sondag-aanbidding is dus ten volle op vervalste tekste gebaseer.
Hoe moet die ware Sabbat gevier word?
Ons lees in Eksodus 16 dat die Israeliete, selfs nog voordat God vir hulle die Tien Gebooie gegee het, die Sabbat onderhou het deur byvoorbeeld nie op daardie dag manna bymekaar te maak nie.

het die viering van die Sabbat ook as teken van God se verbond
met
In die tyd wat Jahshua op aarde geleef het, het die Fariseërs en ander kerkhoofde ’n hele paar ander reëls by die bestaandes gevoeg. Juis daarom het hulle verskeie kere met Jahshua gebots wanneer Hy byvoorbeeld iemand op die Sabbat gesond gemaak het. Jahshua het egter geantwoord dat Hy Meester is oor die Sabbat en dat Hy gekom het om die ware gees van die Sabbat te herstel. Hy het nie gekom om die Sabbat te verskuif of te vervals nie.
Die Sabbat as Wet
Die Sabbatdag moet gedenk/onderhou en geheilig word (Ex 20:8; Deut 5:12; Ex 16:23, 25, 26; 31:16; 35:2, 3; Lev 26:2; Eseg 20:12,16,20; Jes 58:13;).
Die sewende dag is die Sabbat van God (Ex 20:10).
God het die Sabbatdag geseën en dit geheilig nie ‘n ander dag nie (Ex 20:11).
In Deut 5:14 beveel God ons om die Sabbatdag te hou.
God het nog nooit hierdie bevel opgehef nie!
Almal weet tog Sondag is die eerste dag van die week. Die meeste kalenders dui dit ook so aan.
Almal wat God op hulle eie manier of met mensgemaakte godsdiens wil dien, bedryf dus eiewillige godsdiens.

Onthou, die Sabbat is as wet ingestel en dit kom talle male in die Woord voor, en die strawwe vir die ontheiliging daarvan is geweldig en het uiteindelik die uitwissing van ‘n volk en land tot gevolg.
Daniël het soos volg geprofeteer: “En hy sal woorde spreek teen die Allerhoogste en die heiliges van die Allerhoogste mishandel; en hy sal probeer om tye en wet te verander, en hulle sal in sy hand oorgegee word gedurende 'n tyd en tye en die helfte van 'n tyd” (Dan 7:25). Die Rooms-Katolieke Kerk het die Sabbat na Baäl se dag, Sondag geskuif. Hulle het ook die Wet van God “Tien Gebooie” verander.
Op 22:14-15 Salig is die wat sy gebooie doen, sodat hulle reg kan hê op die boom van die lewe en ingaan deur die poorte in die stad. (15) Maar buite is die honde en die towenaars en die hoereerders en die moordenaars en die afgodedienaars en elkeen wat leuens liefhet en doen.
Die Sabbat as Verbond
Ex 31:13-18 Spreek jy met die kinders van
Ex 35:2 Ses dae lank kan daar werk verrig word, maar op die sewende dag moet daar vir julle 'n heiligheid, 'n dag van volkome rus wees tot eer van JaHWeH. Elkeen wat daarop werk verrig, moet gedood word.
Deut 4:13 Toe het Hy aan julle sy verbond verkondig wat Hy julle beveel het om te doen, die tien woorde, en dit op twee kliptafels geskrywe.

Ook het JaHWeH my in dié tyd bevel gegee om julle die insettinge en
verordeninge te leer, dat julle dit
"Ek sal my verbond nie ontheilig nie, en wat oor my lippe gegaan het, sal Ek nie verander nie." Psalm 89:35.
"Want Ek, JaHWeH, het nie verander nie..." Maleági 3:16.

The period following sunset with which the Jewish day began (Gen_1:5; Mar_13:35). The Hebrews reckoned two evenings of each day, as appears from Exo_16:12 : Exo_30:8; Exo_12:6 (marg.); Lev_23:5 (marg. R.V., “between the two evenings”). The “first evening” was that period when the sun was verging towards setting, and the “second evening” the moment of actual sunset.

We already referred to the meaning of the Hebrew words in Lv.23:32, and found that the real meaning – because it is the simplest – of the expression behn-haarbayim is “between the two nights” – daytime. Not “between the two evenings” which logically and practically is an impossibility. “Between the (two) evenings” in any case is impossible. Any time-section is either the previous or the next day and can of neither, be some third in between time-entity.
“Joshua 8:28-29; 10:26-27; John 19:31 are all in harmony with Deuteronomy 21:23.” p. 11 2nd last par. John certainly is not in harmony with Dt.21:23. See Par. 5.2.1.4. Dt.21:23 is irrelevant as far as Jn.19:31 is concerned. Notwithstanding here is the best definition of “evening” in this booklet. “The beginning of each day is at sunset bringing on the evening. …Technically, we can say that every day has only one evening (or dusk or twilight) and it comes first, followed by night and then sunrise and daylight until the next sunset”. Last paragraph page 11 This confirms our finding thus far that the “evening” of the Authorised Version as the old English equivalent for the 213
Hebrew ereb, does not “arrive” (present tense) with the sun already set, but “with the setting sun”. Ereb – “eve” in the Hebrew and old English idiom – does not mark the beginning of the new day; it marks the end of the old day, or, it simply means, “night”. Day’s ending “arrives” (at noon) and, “goes” “with the setting sun” (afternoon = “vespers”). It ends the moment of sunset. “Sunset” is the end of the end of the old day, as well as the beginning of the beginning (evening) of the new day.
